I am sorry to say that I won't be able to be at the reunion in Las Vegas on Oct. 5-7.  I was so looking forward to being at the reunion but something has come up which prevents me from attending on these dates.  Have a wonderful reunion and my thoughts will be with you.  I was representing my Dad, LCDR Ernest J. La Fleur,
VR-24 Terminal Officer from1954-56.

Sorry, I made a mistake. John Hayes was our quarterback when we played real football. None of this flag stuff.lol Back in fall of 74. I worked in the other hanger from vr-24. Ltjg Jay Williams was our coach. Been looking for Ron Peoples, Steve Miller, Bill "moon" Mullins. Alot of good times on that duty. Went to Sig. and I was sent to AIMD there. HYD shop. Good duty there also but near as good as Naples, NAF. Cant make reunion this year. Fixen to have some surgery in Oct. Sure would like to see some of yal again. Anyone got a photo of the base back then before they gave it a facelift. I sure would like to have one, an arial if possiable. Thanks, Terry Bradshaw AMH3

I saw in the archive that someone was looking for information on the 7 VR-24 fatalities from the Grumman C-2A Greyhound #152787 that crashed on November 16, 1973 shortly after leaving Souda Bay, Crete en route to a US Navy Aircraft Carrier.
Sorry about the big description, but it took a while to collect this info and I'd like it to be easy for whoever is doing memorial work to have it.
Here is what I pieced together from a couple of old newspaper articles which ran the days after the crash:
Cmdr Grant Augustine Farmington, NM
Lt Louis Holmes Anders Charlotte, NC
ATR3 Scott A Jacoby Kansas City, KS
MMFA Clifford J Homsher Beverly NJ
AMS3 Thomas M Murphy Binghampton, NY
SA William Stecher South Orange, NJ
SR Arnold N N Woods Meridian, CT
Hope it helps.

Sent an email to Ted Bishop on his old email address. Maybe Ted changed the address. If anyone knows of Ted, let me know   At VR-24 DET from 1958 to 1959. Thanks to all that may reply.

Greetings to all former members of VR-24 DET. stationed in Naples, It. But most of all to members that were there in Naples from mid 1958 to May 1959. I was an AT that flew COD's and R5D's with several members  of the VR-24 Crews.  I have received some emails from a few, but ones I don't remember, sorry, it's been a long time. mBut if you know of any of these guys, let me herar from you. I sent some photos to Dick Prather, I'm sure he will post them. Till then  God Bless.
