Hi All:  I was in both Port Lyautey and the Naples Det between 8/54 and 4/57.  Flight scheduling; Flight Orderly, and NALCOELMREP at the detachment.  Great days.  Just returned from Pensacola (stayed at the campground (1/2 mile from the Aviation Museum).  They just keep making the Museum bigger and better.  What a great place to bring back old memories for any period of service in Navy aviation.  No R5D this time (they had one during our reunion of 1985).  I'd love to see another reunion in Pensacola.    Darrell Brock

I just discovered VR-24's website the day before yesterday. I have only seen two names in the guestbook  from the 1960 t0 1963 era,Allen Capel and  Willie Barr whom I served with in Naples. Also recognized Freddie Fuentes and ward both from Port Lyautey  I remember seeing Ward in Viet-Nam as I was passing throuh Binth Tuy. I just haven't seen many people from that time frame. Where are they? Most of the name in the website seen to be from the late sixties to decommisioning. We aren't the last of the Mohicans ,are we ?

I graduated #1 in my AE "A" school class. On the assignment board was VRU-4, London England. It sounded goog so I chose it.
After checking into the Sqd. I found out there was an attachment in North Africa.  When I got to North Africa I found that they didn't need an airman AE . I became a storekeeper. Never did get to work on an Airpalane.
