City, State: tujunga, ca Comments: hello shipmates i was stationed at the aimd from 71 to 1975 naples italy. i used to build up and tear down props for the c1's and c'2. also participated in the change over from allison to hamilton std. props in 74-75. also worked in the engine shop tearing down and rebuilding r1820 engines. naples was one of the best parts of my life, touring europe and the med. i lived off base most of the time and remember the cold beer on base then taking the liberty bus down town to the swiss bar and sitting outside on the street drinking lowenbraw's. went from adran to adr2 while there. re-enlisted for vp-50 flight engineer and got out in 1979. thanks for all the good times, steve

City, State: St. Louis Mo Comments: Another memory I have is traveling around Europe with 3 others from the Sigonella base. We took 2 weeks leave and traveled by train to France, Germany(for Octoberfest), Switzerland, etc it was a great time. Also got to fly to England on the T39 as crew think we took an admiral for some meeting cant remember now but we got to stay night or 2. I checked in to my room on base then got a cab to London and did some sight seeing pilots didnt want to go. any way hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I remember alot of good times including the Toga party we had which started as I remember at John Tindals house on base then still wearing our togas we all walked over to the club for the rest of the night. |
