Hello shipmates,
I'm so glad that we have FACEBOOK. I was in VR from 1985 - 1988. Lots of fun times! I'll be posting some pictures very soon. There are some pictures now, so visit our group and join us.

Have a great weekend!

Tess

As a reminder, Dave Fincannon was in Sigonella from 1980 - 1983.  He left as an AE2 and was a T-39 aircrewman. He'll be missed by all who knew him!  Fair winds and following seas my friend.

I just found this web site after doing some reminiscing with another pilot about our military days. I have been out of touch for so long it was nice to remember the good times in VR-24 in the early 80's.

Everytime I come back to this web site I get a good feeling. I just wanted to update my email address in case someone might give a rats a_ _.   I can't beleive it has been 41 years since first I met so many great freinds in VR-24 in old Port Lautey.  Then to have the good luck to go back and serve in the Naples Det in '61.  There is going be be a continuation of our reunions and I sure hope the be renewing old aquaintances soon.  Dick Prather - Many thanks for keeping the web site alive and in such fine shape.

How time flies by.  It seems like yesterday that I was changing a engine on a Greyhound.  What vr-24 did back in the 70's and 80's made history.  As did those that came before and after us.  A group of men and  women that worked together to get a job done.  How did we do it?  It was by far the best time of my life.  And a time I will never forget.  The memories will always grace me but never haunt me.  Thank-you all for the best of times.

Really love the web-site. I was an AE2 and was stationed in sunny Sig from Dec. 86 thru Mar.90.I worked with Mitch Cheraso, Steve Thompson, Keith Lester, John Christmas, Cheif Sales, and so many others. I have many fond memories of my time in Sigonella. I am currently working for Gulfstream Aerospace as a Final Line Inspector. My wife and I have two daughters, 1 14 yrs. old and 1 10 months old. Would love to hear from some of the guys and gals who remember me.

I was in VR-24 in 1962-64 when it was at Port Lyautey and when it relocated to Rota, Spain.  In those days we had a couple of R4-Q's C-119) soon retired, R5-D's (C-54) and C-130's.  I came to the squadron from HS-7 when it was based at NAS Norfolk.
When everyone's time was up we all split and there was no internet or any other easy way to keep in touch so I haven't seen or heard from any of my old squadron mates since that time.  I only remember 3 names now: Jerry Marino (Detroit), John Rowe and Jerry Byars.
