City, State: Jasper In Comments: More memories. What about a Boot party. Get your wings? How about the time we would go and pick up a plane in Lisbon Portugal? Damn, 4 out of 5 times we didn't make it out of there by Friday at 3 pm. Had to stay the weekend. Rudder bushing problems, thanks Pete Silvernale.. Broke down in England because Lt Johnnie Bennett rode the brakes down the runway. Me and Lt Sam Potts spent the night in Soho because we missed the train. Me and Kevin got er done though. Spend a few nights in England drinking Heinies and eating sliders (greasy hamburgers). Brian Kuehner getting his back scratched? Remember Sprout? The sidewalk biker?... String bean and the Courner. What about Flash, or Sunshine in the tool crib? How about. The Souda Bay Fish House drinking Ouzo? Yummy.
City, State: Jasper IN Comments: SUP! Does anyone remember that? I served as a Loadmaster on the C-2 aircraft from 81 - 84. I was an Airframer (AMS 2) when I left. I had a great time in the squadron and on dets. I had a great time. Most of you that know me, on the Souda dets, remember Me and Lisa. Still married (man, been 24 years) and have two boys. All grown up now. My one son Trevor is going in the Navy Feb 08. Might I reflect on some of the good times I had? Paul (EARS) Eernisee, has a posting in here. I emailed him. Also, Lonnie Delany. And Perry Pena. Ernie Stork, Stringbean and so on. Carlos Benevides.(Charlie Biggs) sold me a Toyota with a messed up carbureator. I fixed that. Then my roommate wrecked it. Some of the great people I remember... Luke Reedy. Tim Hill. Gene Counter, Kevin Lane whom I visited here in Indiana a couple of times. Can't find him right now. Mike Roth, on a trip to Jersey to pick up a C-2 form Bethpage. Tony Delonzo, walking around Souda. CAT (Carol Ann Tischy), Bag Brothers. What about this, Knights of the Round Table at the E club? . How about DOM's (drunk on the mountain?) Wow a weekend drink fest!

Would love to hear from anyone. I know I've missed several names.
City, State: Orlando, Florida Comments: I just came accross this great web site. I was in VR-24 Det, Naples from Jan 64-Mar 67. I worked in Admin in Personnel and finished up my tour in NALCOEUREP. CO was CDR Wisendanger and the XO was CDR Probyn. Admin Officer was LCDR Herb Wilson, Personnel Officer was AL Fry. The only woman in the Squadron was Lt Barbra Kelly who was Ass't Admin Officer. YNC Archie Ragland was the Admin Chief. Other PN's and YN's were YN1 Downs, YN2 Jerry Peddy, YN2 Bob Hamilton, YN2 Dave Fowler, PN1 Haugen, PN3 Jim Quinn. I hung out with the likes of AZ3 Danny Studebaker, ADR3 Ron Bishop, YN2 Bob Hamilton, AT2 Roger Ellis, Mike Cass, YN3 Jim Truley, SN Jerome Tyra, Danny Casey, ATN2 Red Hilton, and AE2 Dillinger, ADR3 Robie Robinson, ADJ2 Whitey Matheson. How many of you remember the great times in the Blue Bird Club, The Flamingo Club and the "Buy me one drink Joe" places like the El Morocco, The Den, Catus, the San Francisco Bar, the Snake Pit etc. We had some great times in thoss places. I played on the Football and fast pitch softball teams. AMH1 Marty Paleno was the coach along with CDR Probyn. This was the best Squadron and duty I ever had in my Naval career. Some of the pilots I remember are LT Fry, LCDR McMurry, LT Balderston, LT Cobe, LCDR Lawler, LCDR O'dell, LCDR Wilson, LCDR Johnson, LCDR Giannetti, LCDR McBride, LCDR Milner, and LT Carlson. VR-24 Det Naples was the best duty a black shoe could have asked for. We had great times and traveled all over the Europe. I hope I will hear from some of you old VR-24 shipmates. I went back to Capo space A in Feb 2006. The place has really changed. The whole base is brand new. Most of you would not believe what they have done with the old NAF. Hope to hear from some of you in the near future. Has anyone ever heard from Studebaker, Bishop, Jerome Tyra, Bob Hamilton, Mike Cass etc.? I sure would like to know what happend to some of these fellows. Carl (Skip) Mlinarich, PNCM, USN, Retired
City, State: Moosup, CT Comments: I would like to extend a Thank You to Sam Todd, Jodi Kruger and anyone else instrumental in the organization of the VR-24 Reunion at Pensacola FL. It was a great experience to talk and share stories (and Photos) of Naples and Rota. Since returning to Connecticut ( from the reunion), I have been trying to make contact with some friends from within and outside of VR-24 that were at Rota during the 1968 -1971 time frame. I think I have been somewhat successful in this attempt, however, there are still many friends out there. If anyone knows the whereabouts of the following people it would be interesting to re-establish communication and try to gather support for the next reunion: Richard Reed (Spanky), Jim Tyler, Larry Willson, Tom Minor, John Field, Larry Wilcox, Ray Plumb, Gary Urman, Wally Stecklair, and many others. Would like to hear from you. Regards Steve Zeiba
City, State: Corpus Christi, TX Comments: Does any one know why there is a "world famous Bradshaw Airlines"? The answer lies in the fact that one travels beyond normal boundaries like the Med. or Europe... Hence VR-24 (Bradshaw Airlines) goes beyond the Med or England, Germany(Europe). Detachment Alfa goes the other side of the world. Soon to come; the true World Famous Bradshaw Buckaroos. Thanks Carlos QLB

City, State: Corpus Christi, TX Comments: Ten bonus questions for the C-2A Plane Captain(Flight Crewman) examine... 1. Who was the first president of the Bradshaw Shellback Association? 2. What is Bradshaw Airlines and why was it named this? 3. Who competed for the C-2A P/C evaluator position in 1979? 4. Who crashed the Italian gate, waking up the guard, and got away with it? 5. Who went flying behind a C-2A on turn-up before a test flight? 6. Who was accused, by the CO, of passing out enchiladas in flight? 7. Who had to listen to Lt. Brewer(had to have the last word). for three years? 8. Who put one(C-2A) in the dirt and got away with it? 9. Who held two machine guns belonging to guards in Alexandria, Egypt while they ate a customary taquito provided by Joe Ambassador? 10. Who and why is there a Chale Biggs? QLB Carlos B Benavides
