City, State: Ramona, CA Comments: It is with profound sadness, and at the request of Chris Marks, son of AEC KC Marks, that I post the following: Wanted to let you know that my dear father KC Marks passed away 10-14-11. He was a long time member of VR-24 and talked often of his fond memories in Port Lyautey and Rota. He would rather fly on a C-130 than brand new 787. Please let all his VR-24 buddies know and please pray for our family. His loving son Chris Martinez, Ga. 30907
City, State: Peoria, AZ Comments: I served in VR-24 from 87-91 as a AT3 and T-39 Aircrewman. Have to say, seeing this site brought back many great memories. VR set the tone for the rest of my career and the caliber of the sailors I got to serve with were some of the best. I retired after 21 years as a GMC (yes I left flying). Would like to hear from others that served in sunny Sig during that time frame.
City, State: Arlington, VA Comments: I was born in Port Layote in 1961. My father (John Sobola) was active duty USN stationed there. Anyone serve with my dad there and remember him?
City, State: Mt Washington,Ky Comments: Served in VR-24 from 1967-1969. Have a lot of good memories of Rota and of the fun times that were had with my shipmates. I worked in the line shack with some good guys that made being away from home fun. I sure would like to hear from some of the guys that I was stationed with. Seems not so long ago. Good times were had by many at Benny's and the Tokyo. I feel very fortunate to have had the experience at Rota and being able to see Europe and the Med. area. Wonder what happened to my roomies Chip, Tom , and Russ.
City, State: Norfolk, VA Comments: Any former "VOD Squad" members here?

City, State: Daphne Alabama Comments: just moved from Omaha NE
City, State: Piedmont, Alabama Comments: Well, I said I wasn't going to do this but I will because nobody else has commented. Would be nice to see VR-24 folks start communicating. OK Ron Irwin-since nobody else replied, I must ask about Jack Spain and what happened. I'm positive that I knew him. Thanks. "Bill"
City, State: Hooks, TX Comments: When I sent Bill Wilemon the NATOPS he needed we talked on the phone a few times about the good times in VR. It got me to thinking about some of the stranger happenings along the way. Does anyone remember the AT, I think it was Jack Spain, getting fired from the balcony ?
