City, State: Valparaiso, IN Comments: Thanks for the website and the memories! My family was stationed in Rota, Spain from May 1964 thru July 1968. My dad was LCDR. Brewer Bell (and mom was Bert) and he flew mainly C-130s. I think it was the best time of our lives, lot of good friends that carried on through the years. Dad retired in 1971, bought a farm in western Arkansas, attended a number of VR-24 reunions and passed away in 1999. We often spoke late into the nights about our time there. Thanks again!

City, State: Vero Beach, Fl Comments: Just a quick note to say what a pleasure it is to visit this site. I was in VR24 from 82 thru 85, it was my best tour. Came in as an AE1 left as AEC, then went to DC and made Senior, retired out of Mayport. Really enjoy hearing how many of my shipmates are doing. Has anyone heard from Hector Mendez, Tony Delanzo, Arnold, or Steve Gates?

City, State: Ripon, CA Comments: My Dad was a YNC in the squadron at Port Lauyotey in the 1950's. I believe he edited the squadron newspaper (?). His name was Michael Lisa. He passed in 2003. If anyone knew him, or wants to ask me any questions, please email me. I have a very nice squadron photo in front of an R5D from that time period. I can't quite make out the plane #, but it is a cool photo. warm regards Mark Lisa LT, MSC, USN (Ret) Fomer HMC also
City, State: Escondido, CA Comments: Nice to see a great website for one of the best duty stations an air dale could hope to be stationed. My family and I were there from 1959 to 1963. Fond memories of the Bluebird Club, The El Sombrero and Luck Luciano's restaurant. As AD (later an ADR) and a TF-1/C1A plane captain, I saw a lot of the Med on detachments to Athens, Souda Bay, Palma D'Majorca. Spent alot of time on the "Line" and the 18 months turning wrenches in the shop Regards to All Ed Komzelman
