Hello everyone!
Not sure if y'all remember me Tess Olaes. I was in VR-24 from 1985-1988. The only filipino girl in the same, seemed like it at that time. Anyway, I was C2-T-39 PC and also worked in AD Shop (AD3) and Phase. I remember Rota, Souda Bay dets. Hey Pete, remember when you carried me back from El Mondo to the hotel and the local Greek cops stopped and you tried to get me to talk or they were taking all of us to jail? We were on det with Brenda Christianse, Maureen?) and others. It was a blast! I married Wolf from HC-4 and we have three children (John, 20, Lauren, 18 and Jack, 9). Wolf is still in the Navy stationed in Lemoore (VFA-125 AMO). He's going for 30 (another four years to go). I got out in 1991 and joined the Reserves (YN2) until 2006. I am still with Civil Service working at Naval Hospital Lemoore. It's all good.  Those of you who remembers me, please see my myspace at http://www.myspace.com/emailtess or you can email me at emailtess@aol.com I'd like to hear from you. I have some pictures from VR. Not a lot but brings back memories. I sure would like to hear from anyone from 1985-1988. I hear from Daniel Merrell, Robert Medina, Cindy Hainey-Velez, Denise Brown-Sanchez, Angela Sorapuru, Carl Cuppy and Howard and Penny Barr (awhile back). Whatever happened to Marcus (Irish guy)? Tony Lopez, Lisa, Tony Folsom, etc. Take care everyone!

It's been a while since my last visit. I would like to wish all who served in VR-24 a merry Christmas and a happy holiday season. I know everyone who knew him was saddened by the loss of captain David John Sperling this year. I will always remember him and his wonderful wife Judy. They were truly the best. For those who didn't know him, read his obit at http://www.juneauempire.com/stories/032608/obi_261874371.shtml

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd check back again,it's been a while and great to see more familiar names. Was in VR-24 from 81-84 and had some great times of which I look back and even the sucky times were not that bad. Had alot of great experiences and seen alot of the world. Just want to wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Years. Looking forward to making it to a reunion some day. Been in touch with a few guys thanks to this site and some just research of my own. Still trying to get in touch with Kevin Haney,Ron Crook,AE Arnold,Mark Konrad,Brian Kehner, and anyone else that was there during our tour. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. Take care and Happy Holidays

I served in VRC-40 in 1980-83 and saw the name Pete Berna in one of your posts.  Anyone have his contact info - I flew with him (mighty C-1 COD).

I would like to wish all former VR-24 shipmates a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  A special greeting to those of you that I served with from 1973 to March 1978.  I very much enjoyed my tour in VR-24 and the good friends and shipmates I served with.  If ever in Huntsville, do not hesitate to give me a call.  256 679-4308.

Buon Natale,
